Stage Fright

The young students at a prestigious performing-arts camp fall prey to a murderous psychopath in this darkly comic slasher film featuring Meat Loaf and Minnie Driver. As a young girl, Camilla Swanson dreamed of becoming a theater actress like her mother (Driver), who was brutally murdered following her Broadway debut in a musical called The Haunting of the Opera. Years later, a teenage Camilla (Allie MacDonald) and her younger brother Buddy (Douglas Smith) are working in the kitchen of a performing-arts camp when she crashes the audition for their big summer production -- a Kabuki-style revival of The Haunting of the Opera -- and she lands the role made famous by her late mother. As rehearsals get under way, however, a maniac turns the theater into a slaughterhouse, and the murders seem to be linked to Camilla's tragic past. But while desperate producer and camp owner Roger McCall (Meat Loaf) convinces the eager young actors that the show must go on, there may be no one left to take the stage when the curtains part on opening night.

Non-Stop

Global action star Liam Neeson stars in this action thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air. During a transatlantic flight, U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages threatening to kill a passenger every 20 minutes unless $150 million is transferred into an off-shore account. With the lives of hundreds of passengers hanging in the balance, Marks must use every nuance of his training to uncover the killer traveling on the aircraft. Co-starring Julianne Moore (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1), Michelle Dockery (TV's Downton Abbey) and Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years a Slave)

Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit

"You're not just an analyst anymore. You're operational now." Jack Ryan (Pine) is a student studying in England on September 11th. That act causes him to drop out and join the military. When he is involved in an attack he thinks his career is over. During his rehab he is approached by Thomas Harper (Costner) with an offer too good to refuse. When he notices something that could bring down the entire country he is thrust headfirst into the dangerous world of the C.I.A. I was really looking forward to this movie because I liked the other four Jack Ryan movies and I am a huge Kevin Costner fan. This one did have something the others were missing though. Wall to wall action and the ability to keep you tense and wondering what will happen next. I'm not saying the others were boring because I did like them but this one really had the feel of a Bond type movie. This is also, for lack of a better term, an origin movie showing how Jack Ryan went from student to C.I.A. operative. Branagh is a great villain in this and the movie really moves quick. This is a popcorn movie but is tense and has a fully developed story that I highly recommend. Overall, in my opinion this is the best Ryan movie made so far. I give this an A-.
