The Monroe Free Library Board of trustees and staff would like to thank the community for supporting our 2023 budget increase. The budget passed with 3,523 yes votes to 3,022 no votes. See the letter to the editor from our board president.

MFL has gone FINE FREE! Beginning July 2022, Monroe Free Library will no longer charge overdue fines on books, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs. See our all new circulation policy for more details!

We've launched a brand new Seed Library and Garden Club! This spring, we're cultivating collaboration! Get more details.

The library's Wednesday and Sunday hours will permanently change beginning on December 1st. The library will be open from 12:00 - 8:00 on Wednesdays and from 10:00 - 3:00 on Sundays.

Beginning Wednesday, September 1st, Monroe Free Library will once again require visitors to wear a mask. This decision is in accordance with guidance from the Orange County Health Department that individuals should wear masks in indoor public settings regardless of their vaccination status.

Monroe Free Library will return to our standard Wednesday and Sunday hours beginning September 8th. On Wednesday, September 8th will be open from 1PM-9PM and on Sunday, September 12 will be open from 12PM-5PM.

Beginning on June 30th, the library will be open from 12-8PM on Wednesdays.Additionally, our new Summer Sunday Hours will begin on July 11th. The library will be open from 10AM-3PM on Sundays in July and August.

The library is returning to its standard schedule of access on April 1st. The library will be open until 8 o'clock on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and until 9 o'clock on Wednesdays.

The library will begin charging fines again beginning on March 1st. If you have outstanding materials, please try to return them before that date. We will remain Fine Free for Seniors over 62 years old.

Our Crafting at Home series for Kids and Teens is returning Monday February 8th! See them all on Facebook.

Monroe Free Library will remain fine free until March 1st, 2021. We may re-evaluate as that date approaches.

The library will be closed Monday, January 18th for Martin Luther King Jr Day.

Beginning 12/21, we are temporarily changing our hours of operation. We will close at 7PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. All other days will remain the same.

The library has returned to its normal schedule of operation. A mask is required to enter the building.

The library will be closed Saturday, July 4th, for Independence Day.
